PILOT.
Filmmaker.
Entrepreneur.
Over a decade ago I was sitting at a bar in Whistler, Canon 7D in hand with a Rode VideoMic taped on, and was told I’d never make any money creating online videos. Fast forward to 2022 where I had built and sold a commercial production company, The Heist, having turned it into an agency powerhouse working with some of the biggest brands in the world such as GMC and lululemon, talent like Mark Wahlberg, and even had a few spots play during the Super Bowl.
Mergers & acquisitions
As a life-long passion, a side hobby simultaneously grew into another career opportunity through aviation. After getting my private license I quickly moved onto obtaining my IFR, multi, and commercial. I’ve sought out the most diverse range of adventures from small uncontrolled fields inside the Grand Canyon to international airports in Central Mexico, as well as plenty of flying all across North America. I currently hold a Canadian commercial pilot’s license, Group 1 IFR, and type ratings for both single pilot and crew on the Cessna Citation 525B. With plans to expand my contract work in 2025 I will be submitting my Canadian ATPL, FAA conversions, and adding PC12 training at FSI to my arsenal.
Flying Dreams
After wrapping up my post-acquisition contract I did some soul searching to figure out what I’d like to be doing for the next chapter in my career. One thing stood out: filming cars and planes was too damn fun to give up. The Getaway Films was born through a team of like-minded filmmakers and gear heads, bringing our expertise and passion in automotive and aviation filmmaking to the industry. The Getaway will continue to grow not only in the commercial and advertising world, but also into the original content and IP development space.
